A MAN was taken to hospital after being beaten with his own cricket bat in an unprovoked attack by a gang.
The attack happened while the man was playing cricket with a group of friends at 6.45pm in Higham Hill Park, near to Norfolk Road, Walthamstow, on Monday (May 24).
The group was approached by a number of black men and women, who attacked them with the cricket bat and stumps.
The 24-year-old victim was taken to hospital, where he was treated for head injuries. He is in a serious but stable condition.
