STAFF at a Highams Park factory are worried about the future of their jobs following an announcement the business may be sold.
Workers at Quest Consumer Products and Stadium Building Products, in Jubilee Avenue, contacted the Guardian anonymously to say they were concerned the factory was closing.
One worker, who asked not to be identified, said: "We are all very worried about what could happen.
"We have been told the business is being sold, but the management are telling us anything."
There are 120 staff employed by the division, which produces plastic ventilation products and plastic baby products.
In a statement released today, parent company Stadium Group plc told the Guardian they are in discussions with a potential buyer for the division.
The company said it began consulting employees on Wednesday.
A spokesperson said there will be no change to employees' contracts before the proposed sale and that workers' existing rights would be protected if the sale went ahead.
However, they also said they were not able to confirm any plans for the business after the sale at this stage.
The spokesperson said a further statement will be released following the outcome of their commercial discussions.
