A MAN has appeared in court after he was arrested at the scene of an armed robbery in Buckhurst Hill.
Michael Olley, 44, from Chandos Square in Broadstairs, Kent, was arrested outside Queen Food and Wine on Lower Queens Road on Sunday night (May 30).
Staff at the off-licence were threatened by a man with a knife shortly before 9pm.
Olley was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with one count of attempted robbery, one count of assaulting a police officer and one count of being in possession of a knife in a public place.
No-one at the off-licence was prepared to comment in the aftermath of the attack.
Chandos was held in police custody ahead of his appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 1.
