FLOWER arrangers from Waltham Forest have made their mark at the world’s most famous flower show.
Helen Gale, 59, of Fairfield Road in Walthamstow, won silver in the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for her arrangement she called Space Oddity.
And Joan Norris, 69, of Cairo Road in Walthamstow, won bronze with her depiction of a garden party.
Helen, who has just finished a year long course in flower arranging, will now have her creation showcased at Capel Manor College in Enfield later this month - this time for the Queen.
She said: “I was very happy to received a prize. It was the first time I have ever entered the show.
“Now I have been asked to replicate the design for the Queen.
While Helen entered for the Walthamstow Floral Art Society, Joan entered with Chigwell Art Floral Group.
She said that they were over the moon with their success.
