MORE details have emerged about the severity of an attack in which a man was robbed of a bag containing personal possessions including his wallet and his car keys.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the violent robbery in which the victim was stabbed twice, resulting in an inch-deep wound which caused one of his lungs to collapse and requiring him to be hospitalised for several days.

The 27-year-old man was walking along Meadway in Ilford on Friday, May 21 at around 1.45am, near to the junction with Longbridge Road.

He was approached by two black men and robbed of his black hold-all. During the attack he suffered two stab wounds in his back.

The robbers then fled but the victim was unable to tell in which direction they went.

The stolen bag contained a number of personal items, including a pair of grey Everlast tracksuit bottoms, a navy blue polo shirt, a black washbag, and a wallet containing two debit cards, a Fitness First gym membership card, his UK driving licence, an Oyster card, and car keys for a Vauxhall Astra.
