FOOTBALL scouts might want to start scoping out Debden Park High School after its Year 7 squad won both the league and cup this year without losing a match.

The Loughton school, in Willingale Road, had already sailed through the West Essex League in top place when it set up a cup final against Roding Valley.

Not to be thwarted in their quest for soccer domination, the team brushed aside their Loughton rivals 3-0 on the day.

School acting head of PE Graham Tongate said: “It's a very good achievement. I've been there four years now and it's the first time we've got through unbeaten.

“We have got a rather good group of well-motivated children and a strong squad. There's probably about 20 boys who could all slot anywhere in the team. They work very well together and they gelled very well from the start. Some of that is down to the summer camp we did for them before school. It's served them very well.”
