THE MAN suspected of murdering a teenager who was found dead near a popular beauty spot can be named for the first time after turning 18 while in custody.
Yayha Gul, 18, of Charlbury Gardens in Seven Kings, is accused of murdering Aliza Mirza, also 18, who was found stabbed in the neck near Wanstead Flats on Saturday, April 3.
The A-level student, from Lansdowne Road, Ilford was rushed to Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone, where she was pronounced dead.
It is thought she was on her way to a party at the time of the attack.
Gul appeared yesterday at the Old Bailey for a preliminary hearing via videolink from Chelmsford Prison.
His trial will begin at the Old Bailey on October 11.
