ONE of the borough's educational institutions has celebrated it's 40th birthday.
Redbridge College, in Barley Lane, Ilford, was opened by HRH Princess Anne on June 2, 1970, and staff and graduates past and present went back to the college this weekend to celebrate the anniversary.
Over 2000 students enrolled for the first term at Redbridge Technical College, as it was then known, for course such as: Dress, Tailoring and Soft Furnishing; Foremanship and Storekeeping; and Secretarial Studies.
Back in the present day, the college runs courses for pupils aged 14 and upwards in hundreds of different subjects.
