PEOPLE from across the borough are being asked to help break a world record ibn the run-up to the Olympics.
Redbridge Council is inviting residents to help create flags for the longest recorded line of bunting at the Inspiration10 event on Sunday, July 25, at Valentines Park in Ilford.
Inspiration10 is Redbridge's London 2012 Open Weekend, which is part of the build-up to the London Olympics in two years' time.
Community artist Madhumita Bose Thomas is visiting a number of community groups across Redbridge to help design and make flags to be included in the bunting, while individuals can also get involved at special workshops at the Mansion itself on Sunday, July 10, and at the Central Library on Saturday, July 24.
The organisers will be hoping to break the current record of 2,696 metres, which was set at the Grassington Festival in Yorkshire.
