THE TODDLER killed in a suspected hit-and-run on Monday has been formally identified.
Two-year-old Aashir Zeeshan, from Ilford, was hit by a car in Salisbury Avenue in Barking on July 5 at around 7:50pm The boy was taken to hospital by ambulance but died at around 11:40pm that night.
He was hit by a blue Volkwagen Golf, which did not stop at the scene.
A post-mortem at Kings College Hospital was carried out yesterday (July 7), which found the cause of death was severe head injuries sustained in the crash.
Two men from Essex have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been bailed to return to police in September.
Officers from Chadwell Heath police station are investigating the incident and would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened.
