POLICE are yet to formally idenity the man gunned down on Monday night.
A post mortem yesterday confirmed the 39-year-old died as a result of gun shot wounds.
Floral tributes at the scene of the shooting, yards from Tiny Tots day nursery in Higham Station Avenue, south Chingford, have paid tribute to a man named Wayne.
Yesterday flowers had been placed by the victim's brother Tyrone and relatives who called him uncle.
A manhunt was launched after the incident at 11.15pm on Monday (July 5).
The 39-year-old was rushed by ambulance to Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, where he later died.
Police are hunting a lone gunman, who was wearing dark clothing.
No arrests have been made.
