PERMISSION has been granted for a motel to build a breakfast room.
Members of Waltham Forest Council's planning committee has given permission for the Sleeping Beauty Motel in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, to build a single storey side extension.
Homes in nearby Bickely Road were consulted about the proposal and as well as two letters of objection, the council also received a 21-signature petition.
Residents' objections centred around the plan being an overdevelopment of the site and they claimd the site had almost doubled in the past five years.
Other concerns were the extension possibly leading to an increase in noise and an increase in demand for on-street parking.
Councillors approved the proposal and permitted the relocation of four bedrooms to provide disabled access and the space currently occupied by the bedrooms is set to become a breakfastroom/lounge.
Members of the committee felt the work would not result in an unacceptable level of impact upon the visual and general amenities of the surrounding properties
