VINEYARD Church, in Loughton, has been rechristened Restore, after a brand-new makeover.
The church, in Langston Road, has been part of the community for over 25 years, but felt its new name better reflected its aims at helping individuals and healing broken relationships.
It had also found its old name was being confused with the unconnected Vineyard network of churches which has a large global presence.
Church leader Ian King said: “We had a sense as a church that God wanted us to clarify our aims and communicate them in a fresh way locally.
“As a result, we came up with the name Restore Community Church, and a vision statement to restore lives, relationships and communities.
“We are now looking for new ways that we can positively serve local residents and the community as a whole.”
As a part of the renaming process, the church has developed a new logo, and web-site and is distributing information around the local area.
Its first task under its new banner has been to help organise a Family Fun day, this Saturday, July 17 at the Roding Valley Recreation Ground, in Loughton.
