A WANSTEAD tennis club helped raise £374 for good causes when it hosted a charity tournament.
Linkside Lawn Tennis Club members Madeline Bridges and Dora Michaelides organised the all-women contest in aid of Cancer Research UK and the Alzheimer's Society.
Contestants from across the region were invited to take part, but it was the club's own players Junko Insekame and Mai Yoshida who won overall.
Ms Bridges said: "We're very pleased with how it went. We've been holding this contest three years now and this was the first where there was sunshine all day long.
"We decided to raise money for the charities because we, like most people, know someone who's been affected by cancer so we felt it was a very important thing to do."
