INTERGALACTIC warfare, an evil genius and invading space monsters feature in a computer game designed by Walthamstow school pupils.
Alex Lotz, Malek Lounis and Mohammed Webb, all 14-year-old pupils at Walthamstow Academy, have created Monster Force: The Moon Councils for a national competition.
Players can create their own character, either human or alien, to lead resistance to a race of monsters who have invaded six moons.
The aim of the game is to capture the monsters so they lead players to an evil genius.
The game’s design is inspired by Sony's platform shooter video game Ratchet and Clank. The school hosted the launch of the BAFTA Young Game Designers competition and the contest for 11 to 16-year-olds.
Youngsters submit their concepts on paper and the winners get a selection of computer game hardware, work experience with designers at EA and a prototype of the winning game developed by experts.
Principal Emma Skae said: "We were very honoured to host the high profile and exciting event which gave our students the chance to work with some top names in the gaming business.
"It was a very unusual opportunity which students will be developing further, as it has helped to harness their imaginations and creativity."
