MOVIE-MAKING students at a performing arts school got to show off their hard work to family and friends when they held their very own film première at a cinema.

Staff from the Pauline Quirke Academy, which is based at Bancroft's School in Woodford Green High Road, rolled out the red carpet for the debut screening of short films shot by their talented pupils at the Lee Valley Odeon.

A total of 45 children from the academy, aged between six and 16, worked together for three months to produce the mini-movies, which covered topics ranging from time travel to anti-bullying.

Pauline Quirke principal Elise Audeyev said: “We were all dying to see the finished results as we all know how long and how hard the children have worked on their films.

“All of the films were very different, but were really fantastic. All of our students have been involved in the films, contributing their time and enthusiasm to make this such a successful and enjoyable day for everyone.

“They have all worked so hard on these projects and we are incredibly proud of them.”

The day was rounded off by an after-show party.
