THIS year's Wanstead Festival will be held on Sunday, September 19, it has been announced.
The annual mix of music, shows, stalls and family activities will run between 11am and 5pm on Christchurch Green in the High Street.
Redbridge Council hope to broaden the appeal of this year's event, which it expects will attract around 2,000 people.
It has also been suggested that the festival could be linked with the Wanstead Art Trail, although details of this have yet to be arranged.
The council has revealed that a classic car show and toy library have already been booked for the event.
Councillors are expected to approve the plans for this year's festival at an area committee meeting on Monday, July 26.
It is hoped that local businesses will contribute to part of the cost, which is predicted to be at least £10,000.
