A MAN charged over a fatal road crash has admitted his guilt on the eve of his trial.
Two 18-year-old men men were killed when a black Lexus IS200 in which they were passengers collided with a tree in Aldersbrook Road in Wanstead, near the junction with Herongate Road, at 2:20am on Sunday, June 14 last year.
Nabeal Javeed, 20, of Goldsmith Avenue in East Ham, who was driving a BMW at the time, pleaded guilty to two counts of death by careless driving and two counts of causing death while driving without insurance.
He changed his plea shortly he was due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court today (Monday, July 19), after previously denying the charges.
At a hearing on February 10, the driver of the Lexus, 20-year-old Zubair Dawood of Bristol Road in Forest Gate, pleaded guilty to two counts of death by dangerous driving.
The two men who died were Wasim Ahmed Butt and Najib Ur-Rahman Karim, who were both 18 and from the Forest Gate area.
Javeed and Karim have been bailed until September 6 for sentencing at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
