TWO jobless graduates are getting creative in their search for work.
Tabres Landi, 24, and Melicia Evanson, 23, both from Walthmstow, are undergoing paid, six-week work placements at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden to gain valuable experience.
The placements were organised through the Cultural Quarter Programme in partnership with various arts organsations.
Mr Landi, who graduated in marketing and advertising, is currently working as a press assistant, and Miss Evanson, who studied choreography and dance, is trying her hand as a retail trainee.
They both heard about the positions at their local Jobcentre.
Other job opportunities are available in arts administration, visitor services, and information web technology.
Mr Landi said: "The programme is unique in the way that it offers a range of structured training within each job.
“It aims at giving each participant an insight into the creative and cultural world, equipping them to embark on a successful career within the arts sector.
“The training includes a personal development programme and a series of master classes led by experts from the creative sector.”
