STRICTLY Come Dancing star John Sergeant was taken through a few different moves when he joined a local karate club for a day.
The former political journalist was invited to join in with the Shotokan Karate Club, at Waltham Abbey Sports Centre, for a light-hearted feature on BBC1's The One Show.
During his time with the club he was shown trying to break a brick and catch a fly in his hand with varying results.
The segment was filmed for the popular TV show to celebrate the forthcoming remake of the Karate Kid.
Chief instructor Rod Butler, who has been teaching karate for 25 years, was the man who put John through his paces.
He said: “John was a great sport and good fun throughout the day that we did the filming. I admired him for attempting Celebrity Come Dancing and I certainly admire him for putting on a Karate Gi and trying Celebrity Come Karate.”
The show can still be seen on the BBC iPlayer at its website bbc.co.uk.
