A GUNMAN held up a deli in a lunchtime robbery.
Police rushed to Hunter's in Leytonstone High Road after the man threatened a 24-year-old shop worker with a gun before making off with a bag of cash.
It happened on Friday (July 16) at 1pm but police have only now launched an appeal for witnesses.
An ambulance also attended the scene but the female member of staff did not require hospital treatment.
Wayne Aston, of Hunter's head office, said: "Luckily no-one was hurt".
The robber is described as a black man aged between 25 and 30 years old, and is about six foot tall.
He was wearing a black short sleeve t-shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with any information about the robbery is urged to contact DC Larkey from the Met's Flying Squad on 0208 345 4266 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
