MORE details have emerged of the recount in the disputed High Street ward election.
The Liberal Democrats successfully applied to the High Court for a the ballot boxes to be re-opened after a member of the public spotted a potential error.
The figures appeared to show that the Labour candidates had been mistakenly given 1000 extra block votes.
This may have led to Steve Terry being elected ahead of Liberal Democrat Mahmood Hussain.
Details of the recount were finalised by council officials this afternoon.
The ballot boxes, which are kept in a high-security Town Hall vault, will be taken to the High Court next Friday (July 30) along with other papers relating to the ward count.
They will then be handed over to Senior Master Steven Whitaker, or one his deputies.
Court officers will then recount the votes, supervised by council staff and relevant political bodies. Members of the public are not permitted to attend.
The result must be announced within seven days of the recount.
