RESIDENTS will be asked to have a say on how Redbridge Council spends their money.
The authority is planning on holding another consultation - called the Redbridge Conversation - aimed at finding out where taxpayers think their money should go.
The initiative is similar to the coalition Government's Big Society plans which will attempt to give residents a say in what goes on where they live.
The council carried out a Big Conversation two years ago but some residents were critical of the scheme.
Richard Walker jr, of Forest Approach, Woodford Green, wrote to the Guardian two years ago and called the Big Conversation a "consultancy sham".
No date has been announed for the next conversation but the authority will be releasing details soon.
A spokesman for the council said: "The Government is reducing public spending, so all councils will have to cut costs while ensuring frontline services are protected as far as possible.
"We want the people of Redbridge to have a say on how public money should be spent and where it can be saved.
"We will make sure as many people as possible can take part."
