THE Liberal Democrat group in the borough has demanded the council apologise for "wasting" money on paying more than £356,000 to former chief executive Andrew Kilburn when he left his job.
Mr Kilburn left Waltham Forest Council by mutual consent earlier this summer.
Liberal Democrat councillor Naheed Qureshi said: “At a time when money is tight and every penny counts, it is a scandal that Labour councillors are prepared to splash the cash simply to remove someone.
"There are many important local services that badly need that money.
“Local taxpayers deserve an administration which spends their money responsibly.”
