AMATEUR musicians are being drafted in to take part in an orchestra festival in October.
The Water City Orchestra is looking for 60 musicians from Waltham Forest and other east London boroughs to form an orchestra in a weekend.
Recruits will meet for the first time on October 1 and and will rehearse and perform a number of compositions by the end of the weekend.
They will be playing Vaughan Williams's The Lark Ascending, Borodin Symphony No. 2 Heroic in B minor, and a Bollywood film music medley.
The orchestra will be conducted by Rupert Bond and will be led by the internationally acclaimed violinist Michael Bochmann.
Applications are now being accepted from instrumentalists over 15 years of age who play string, woodwind, brass, timpani, percussion or harp to Grade 5 level or above.
