A 21-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist from Chigwell has died after a road crash.
The crash happened when the driver of a blue Ford Fiesta and the victim, riding a red Yamaha motorcycle, smashed into each other on Ongar Road, near an airfield in Abridge at about 7pm yesterday.
The motorcylclist was taken to Romford's Queens Hospital but is said to have died shortly after arrival.
The driver of the Fiesta, a 22-year-old man from west Essex, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was questioned at Harlow police station.
He has since been released on bail until Tuesday, September 21.
The road was closed for five hours as forensics officers gathered evidence to discover the cause of the crash.
Flowers have been left at the roadside nearby.
It is understood a woman driving another blue Ford Fiesta who witnessed the crash has contacted police with information.
