"DETECTION blackspots" are to blame for a high percentage of unsolved crimes in Waltham Forest, according to recent reports.
Thieves who break into cars in the borough have an almost 99% chance of getting away with it, it was announced in the News Of The World.
Figures show that police track down only 1.3% of car break-ins, said to be the poorest in England and Wales.
Results also emerged that 6.1% of burglaries, 9.8% of robberies , and only 5.1% of vehicle thefts were successfully solved in Waltham Forest.
