OXFAM are planning to open a bookshop at the site of the former World Choice Travel agents in Wanstead High Street, it has emerged.
The Guardian understands that the charity is currently in negotiations to secure the lease of the building, which has been empty since September 2009.
Oxfam hope the store, which will exclusively sell second hand books, will complement its general purpose charity shop in South Woodford High Road.
World Choice Travel closed down in September 2009 after the company collapsed, leaving dozens of holidaymakers out of pocket.
It briefly reopened as Clockhouse Travel before closing down again days later.
