Hackney WickED Art Festival 2010 takes place this weekend, offering a three-day programme filled with art, music and pop-up events.
Throughout the weekend, the work of artists from Hackney Wick’s 600 studios will be on show in a wide range of events.
Other highlights include a live music stage in Queen’s Yard from 3pm-11pm each day, art treasure hunts for kids, graffiti jams taking place throughout the Wick, and cabaret and comedy performances.
Sunday features a Coracle Regatta at Eton Mission Rowing Club, as well as a closing party with carnival procession and burning of the Wicker Man. Also on Sunday, The Drawing Olympics, 12pm- 3.30pm, at Foreman’s Smokehouse Gallery, gives young people the opportunity to make observational drawings of the view of the Olympic Stadium through the large windows in the gallery.
