A FREE guided walk has been organised along the River Lea.
The walk will explore the social and industrial history of the vital waterway, passing the site of A.V. Roe's pioneering flights of 1909, an early 19th century gentleman's villa and concluding with a visit to the restored steam pumping engine at Markfield Park in Haringey.
The walk, arranged in partnership with the Walthamstow Historical Society, will last about two hours and, for those not wishing to re-trace their steps, will finish a short walk away from Tottenham Hale Station.
The walk is on Sunday, August 8, at 2pm and will meet in the Lea Valley Ice Centre car park, Lea Bridge Road.
