A FUN day looks set to raise about £2,000 for the Help for Heroes charity.
There was something for all ages as about 2,000 people enjoyed a festival atmosphere at Abbey Gardens, Waltham Abbey.
There were six bouncy castles, slides and a helter skelter, as well as a coconut shy and wet sponge stalls.
There was also 5-a-side football and face painting for youngsters.
Adults enjoyed a variety of performers including majorettes and belly dancing and Sea and Air Force Cadets, Guides and vintage cars and motorbikes at the all-day event.
Mike Tobin, chair of the Roundhills Residents Association, helped organise a motorbike ride-in from High Beech and he took part on his Triumph Sprint 955i.
He said: "It went very well, despite slightly bad weather to begin with, it turned out a lovely day and everyone thought it was a great success."
Other attractions included a barbecue, cake stalls, a tombola, art and craft stalls, a host of refreshments and more stalls.
The fun day, which used to be a regular fundraising event, has not been held for two years and used to be organised solely by the Lea Valley Church.
Mr Tobin, treasurer of the church, said other organisations were involved in arranging the event this year.
He said: "We are hoping it will be even bigger and better next year. Help for Heroes certainly captured the imagination."
A dozen motorcyclists took part in the 12-mile ride in, which would have been more if it wasn't for the weather, and it raised about £150.
The charity for injured servicemen looks set to receive about £2,000, although Mr Tobin said a final total is yet to be reached as money is still being received.
