CYCLISTS of all ages from across the area got some important advice about staying safe while out on their bikes at an event last week.
Snaresbrook Safer Neighbour Team were at Christchurch Green in Wanstead throughout the day on Thursday (July 29) to give advice for safe cycling on the road, as well marking with security codes and registering them on imobilise.com, the UK's national property register.
The team's mascot, PCSO Steve was also on hand to entertain the younger visitors.
PCSO Toni Barlex, of Wanstead Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We've been giving out advice about cycling safely in the road, hopefully that will make people feel safer cycling in the road as it is an issue with people cycling on the pavement.
“We are not trying to be aggressive in the approach but we want to advise people and hopefully it will cut down the people who are riding on the pavements.”
