RESTAURANT staff in Chingford are pulling together to raise cash for a children's charity for the fifth year in a row.
Last year, staff at the Chingford Harvester at Larkswood Leisure Centre, in New Road, helped raise a record amount of £50,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
This year, they are one of 175 Harvesters across the UK hoping to top that figure.
Their fund-raising ideas include bike rides, fun days, and wing walking, which involves being flown by a light-aircraft while strapped on top of its wings.
Guests at the restaurant will be invited to make a donation to Make-A-Wish, which provides once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for children with life-threatening conditions.
Restaurant manager Ashley James Kennedy said: “We’re urging people in Chingford to come along to the Harvester and donate just £2 to help make a difference to children and young people across the country, and be in with a chance of winning some great prizes.
“My staff and I also have some other great fund-raising ideas.”
Those who donate will be entered into a prize draw, which could land them a family holiday to Disneyland Paris.
Other prizes include Apple iPods and Nintendo Wiis.
Visit www.make-a-wish.org.uk for more information about making a donation.
