CHILDREN at a Loughton nursery paraded in purple to raise money for charity yesterday.
About 33 children at New Beginnings Day Nursery in Alderton Hall Lane took part in the 'sponsored toddle' around the grounds of Alderton Infant and Junior Schools in aid of the children's charity Barnardo's.
The nursery's deputy manager, Claire Owles, said: “We did it last year and raised £1,400, so we hope to raise that much again. We're just collecting all our sponsorship in.
“The children wore purple, because that's the colour of the sponsored toddle.”
