A PUNK band that formed at a Woodford secondary school will take to the stage at one of the UK's biggest music festivals this summer.
The Skints, who formed in 2004 while studying at Woodbridge High School in Woodford Green, will play the Leeds and Reading Festivals in August, following on from an appearance at the One Love festival in Hainault this weekend.
The band's sound is described as reggae/dub with a punk influence, and the group - consisting of Josh Waters Rudge (20), Marcia Richards (20), Jamie Kyriakides (22), and Jon Doyle (22) - will play at Reading and Leeds at the invitation of Radio 1 DJ Mike Davies, who discovered the band four years ago at a gig at The Plough in Walthamstow.
Their upcoming festival dates will see them play to the biggest audiences of their career, although they are already old hands on the gigging circuit, having performed at the Bestival event and reggae festivals all over Europe.
One Love will take place in Hainault Country Park from August 6 to 8. For more information, visit the festival website.
