A FORMER Leyton Orient player is back behind bars after groping a woman in a pub within months of ending a jail term for rape.
Former striker Jay Murray, 28, was jailed for seven years in 2006 after he forced his way into a woman's home while working as a postman.
The victim was left with bruises and bite marks.
Murray was released on licence last year, but put his hand up a woman's skirt in a crowded Holloway pub on February 7.
Emma Jones prosecuting at Blackfriars Crown Court said that the woman had edged her way along the bar being careful not to brush against people.
She then found herself face to face with Murray and he assaulted her.
The woman said Murray smirked when she challenged him.
After the woman alerted a doorman, he was arrested at the scene.
Murray denied the allegations, calling them "ludicrous".
He added that he knew he was on licence and could have left the scene, but knew he had done nothing wrong.
He denied sexual assault, but was found guilty.
Judge Blacksell imprisoned him for two years, to run concurrently with the remainder of his seven-year sentence.
