PRIMARY schools in the borough have performed above the national average, according to the latest Key Stage 2 results.
Seventy eight per cent of Redbridge pupils have achieved level 4+ in English and maths combined - the main indicator of attainment.
The figure is a two per cent increase on last year and four per cent more than the national average of 74 per cent.
The results place Redbridge pupils in the top 10 per cent of the 132 local authorities whose schools took the exams.
Last year the figures for Redbridge were also some of the best in the country, with English improving one per cent on the previous year (up to 84 per cent) and maths improving from 81 to 84 per cent.
