AS a student at LSC I have had the opportunity to study many courses that other students from different colleges may not have.
EPQ, also known as an Extended Project Qualification, offers students the chance to be creative and write about anything they are interested in.
The purpose of the EPQ is for the student to write about whatever he/she may be in to – it has the advantage of allowing the student to be passionate and possibly create something very detailed and novel.
The EPQ doesn’t go unrewarded as it offers a total of 90 UCAS points, which can help Leyton Sixth Form students when they are applying to universities.
The qualification is a golden opportunity for students to secure a university place, which we all know could be hard to get hold of.
Next year I hope to do the Extended Project Qualification studying the history of Tutankhamun.
The advantage of studying something you are really interested in is that it allows you to focus more on the subject matter, giving you a chance to find out things which you may have not known before.
The project is unique and allows students to present something different.
It can be a performance, a work of art, an audio-visual piece or a more conventional essay.
