STUDENTS from Leyton Sixth Form attended the Global Student Forum conference held in Westminster.
The conference examined the causes behind the fact that 72 million children across the world do not have access to primary school education.
One particularly moving contribution was from Ben Okufur, a former child soldier from Nigeria who is now a singer/songwriter.
Students also met Rudo Kwaramba from World Vision, who gave an overview of the many different barriers to education and their complex mix of causes like discrimination, gender, conflict, child labour and poverty.
Students were inspired by the event and plan to deliver presentations on this issue to pupils at local primary schools as well as at the college itself.
