IT seems that the Tories are looking to ‘toughen’ things up in schools. Some people think it’s a good idea.
Others think it might be too draconian.
As the Conservatives get hold of power in Britain they begin the cleaning up and straightening out of schools. Conservatives believe that education was their main target in England but standards in schools were decreasing and leniency and a slip in the rules had begun.
Many believe the promises that Labour have made in the last 13 years have been broken.
The Conservatives have many policies that will affect schools around the borough and country. Firstly, they want to let the teachers gain more control and discipline in classrooms to maximise learning.
This will raise the slowly falling international league tables and more importantly the pupils’ own achievements in life. This will have a massive effect on the grades in schools and employers will have higher expectations for those entering the job market in the next five to 10 years.
The national average for five A*-C grades stands at 63.5 per cent, which is quite low considering the standard that we have as a nation.
The Conservatives believe that this should be raised to further than 70 per cent.
The main benefit that the children will gain is that their learning will maximise. In terms of the Conservatives, this will boost the international league tables for education to make Britain a more dominant country in Europe. Consequently, the demand for higher qualifications will set the standard for good paying jobs extremely high.
One thing is for sure…..the Government will need to focus on learning lessons from the past, however they may come their way.
