A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of stabbing a teenager in Leytonstone has been released on bail.

An 18-year-old was slashed with a knife in his chest and shoulder outside the borough's youth offending team headquarters in Cecil Road at around 1.30pm on Monday (August 2).

He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition but was released the next day and expected to make a full recovery.

The suspect is due to return to a police station on Thursday, September 9.

He was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Police believe the attack may have been gang related.

The attack was the third stabbing in Leytonstone in a week.
