SEPTEMBER 2009 saw the beginning of the Year 13 Graduation Committee commence operations.
Their target was to raise £2,000 over the year and the money was directed towards different projects.
Twenty per cent of the total was distributed between charities of their choice, and the rest was split between the sixth form gift and the graduation celebration.
The task seemed very optimistic, but they rose to the occasion and got to work.
Over the course of the year, the Year 13 students have used a variety of fund-raising activities, including two 24-hour ‘stay awakes’, selling roses for Valentine’s Day, Krispy Kreme delights and sweet jar raffles.
The students and staff at the Academy have supported the Graduation Committee and helped to raise money by participating in the events held.
The Year 13 students were completely dedicated to the cause and have reached their target.
They have given up many hours in this quest and I am very proud of their accomplishments. Thank you for your time and effort.
