HELP is available for older people who are struggling to deal with the winter freeze.
Age UK Waltham Forest has received calls from people who have been unable to get out of their homes for days during the recent cold snap.
The charity said they were concerned about older people and were putting on extra services to help as temperatures are again expected to plummet.
They are urging friends and neighbours of older people to get in touch if someone is in need of support.
Age UK Waltham Forest's crisis prevention leader Christine Bateson said: “We have already had numerous calls from or about older people unable to get out for food, unable to heat their home or had a fall.
“We urge people to phone us before the crisis occurs.” For information and advice call 020 8558 5512 between 10am and 12pm Monday to Friday.
