JUST our luck to play Chelsea the day they decide to perform like anything other than a bunch of overpaid has-beens for the first time in a month.

Sunday afternoon's match was an exciting affair and ultimately the draw was probably a fair result given how we were just about on top in the first half, before Chelsea had the edge in the second.

My heart was in my mouth when Heurelho Gomes pole-axed Ramires in the penalty area in injury time.

And as Didier Drogba lazily put the ball easily within the keeper's reach from the spot, I nearly sunk to the floor with relief.

Gomes has been pretty solid so far this year but sometimes, particularly in big games, he gives me the jitters.

What's more, the way in which we conceded an equaliser was as much down to his poor attempt at a save as it was to Michael Dawson coming off second best in his tussle with the hefty Ivorian.

But it shows how far we've come, that a 1-1 home draw with Chelsea ranks as a disappointment, and that much is encouraging.

However, it's now three draws on the trot and if we're to take advantage of Moneybags City's seemingly inevitable implosion and leapfrog them into our (rightful?) position in fourth place, we need to string together some results.

Yesterday's performance notwithstanding, Dawon's return to the line-up following what seems like an age on the sidelines should shore up our very leaky defence, while a fully-fit quartet of strikers should just about make up for Rafael van der Vaart's prolonged absence.

With that, thoughts turn to Manchester United's game with Arsenal this evening. If ever Spurs fans were hoping for a drab 0-0 draw between those two sides, then now is the time.
