LONDON Underground drivers from the Union Aslef have voted to go on strike on Boxing Day.
It claims Tube bosses are treating December 26 as an "ordinary day" and want extra pay for working on the festive date.
An Aslef spokesman said: "The union represents most drivers on London’s tube system, ensuring that disruption will be extensive and significant."
The union’s general secretary Keith Norman said: "I am prepared to discuss this with the company but if they want a meeting they are going to have to have something to put on the table".
But TfL say there are long-standing agreements in place with workers about Boxing Day shifts.
A spokesman said: "It is disgraceful that Aslef should try to hold Londoners and London Underground (LU) to ransom in this way.
"LU has made every effort to resolve this issue with the Aslef leadership, which has refused to attend talks at Acas to discuss its claim for triple time and a day in lieu for its members."
