ARTISTS are displaying the fruits of their labours in an exhibition at one of the borough's most historic buildings.

Eleven artists are participating in the Studio Artists' Group Show at Valentines Mansion in Ilford, which features a host of paintings, sculptures, photographs, stained glass works, and much more.

One of the artists, Amanda Seljubac, has used one of the mansion's studios for the past eighteen months.

The 45-year-old mum-of-two said: “It's a great place to work, I find the mansions and the gardens inspiring.

“I'm particularly inspired by the ferns and the water garden in the grounds.

“It's been really good to meet people who come to see my pieces, I've had some very nice comments.”

The grade II-listed mansion, which dates back to 1696, was reopened in Spring 2009 following a £3.2 million restoration.

The project included the installation of six studios on the top floor of the building, as well a reconstructed Victorian kitchen and living quarters.

Members of the public can view the artworks, as well as meet those who created them, until Sunday, February 27.

Admission is free. For more information, call 020 8708 8100.
