PRIMARY school pupils had a meeting with Santa Claus with a difference when they got to quiz him via a video conference link.
Reception and Year 1 youngsters at Nightingale Primary in Ashbourne Avenue, South Woodford, spent around 20 minutes talking with Father Christmas using a webcam, as part of school efforts to embrace technology in the classroom.
Teacher Lisa Herlihy said: "The children all really enjoyed it.
"We had a question and answer session and they asked things such as, 'How do you make the reindeer fly?' 'What would you like as a snack on Christmas Eve?' and 'How do you get all around the world in just one night?'
"It went very well and shows how forward-thinking our ICT department are. Hopefully we will be able to do it again next year."
It was organised by school ICT co-ordinator Nicholas Hughes.
However the children will not miss out on the more traditional method of meeting Santa. A personal face-to-face meet and greet is due to be held before the end of this term.
