THERE is widespread disruption across Epping Forest, Redbridge and Waltham Forest following heavy snowfall.
Road traffic has been severely affected by the weather on all major routes.
The Central underground line was suspended earlier today and is currently suffering from severe delays after a signal failure at Woodford, although it is unclear whether this was related to the freezing conditions.
There are also severe delays on every other underground line, in most cases because of the weather, except for the Victoria Line which is operating as normal this afternoon.
The Met Office has also issued a severe weather warning for the region.
Waltham Forest Council has said it will grit major roads and hills today.
Essex County Council has also pledged to grit key routes.
Temperatures are predicted to remain at similar levels tomorrow (Sunday).
