POLICE are appealing for help in identifying a woman who keeps leaving animal mess on the doorstep of a Walthamstow home.
The woman has been regularly targeting the house in Mansfield Road, off Palmerston Road, since January.
The homeowner, a teacher who has lived in the property since 1983, became so upset by the harassment, she installed CCTV in an attempt to catch her tormentor.
The camera soon recorded footage showing a middle-aged woman approaching the house with a plastic bag. She then empties the contents onto the doorstep and calmly walks away.
The 57-year-old victim, who owns a number of dogs and cats, has no idea why she is being harassed.
A police spokeswoman said: "Police have written to neighbours in the vicinity and officers from the local safer neighbourhood team have also tried to assist with identifying the person responsible."
Anyone who can help identify the woman is urged to contact Detective Constable Paul Durrant on 020 3276 0969 or High Street Safer Neighbourhoods Team on 020 8721 2035.
Or, to remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
