STUDENTS swapped the streets of Leyton for the historic Hutongs of Beijing during a trip of a lifetime to China.
A total of 29 teenagers from Leyton Sixth Form College in Essex Road, took part in the visit, which was organised by the humanities department to help broaden pupils' understanding of globalisation and China's growing power on the world stage.
The youngsters took in sights such as Tiananmen Square, the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City, a huge palace home to emperors since the 15th century.
Politics student Sophia Azim said: "It was an enlightening experience, and opened my eyes up to a very different culture.”
Fellow student Saniya Ahsan added that it was "the most memorable experience of my life".
